Digital transformation is the superset of digitalization. The complete transformation or conversion of any firm or business process into digitalization is termed as digital transformation.
Digitalization upgrades the existing process. However, it does not change the process. But the complete shift of the existing non-digital process to digital process is termed as digital transformation.

Digitalization during the COVID-19 Pandemic
During the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a massive shift toward digitalization. It protected the safety and well-being of humans to a great extent. More human gathering is responsible for more spread of the virus. Therefore, to save oneself from the pandemic, everyone needed a contactless medium to lead a peaceful life. This was greatly fulfilled by digital technologies.
There was a huge transformation in education. Students could continue their studies without going to schools. Online schooling helped children continue their classes from home.
New technologies helped researchers "track and trace" the pandemic outbreak. To fight this pandemic, it was crucial to have complete knowledge of the ongoing situation in the country. People were well aware of the rising cases and dangers of the pandemic.
New devices helped doctors understand the effects of COVID-19. They worked hard with the help of various digital technologies to stop the spread of the pandemic. The vaccination process was also made easier through digitalization.
Contactless banking and payment methods helped people carry out their tasks. Online grocery shopping, online pharmacies, online recharges, and bill payments helped control the spread of the coronavirus.
Future of Digitalization
After recognizing the importance of digital technologies in our daily lives, it is clear that digitalization has become essential. The COVID-19 pandemic is a live example. The battle with this virus was possible only because of digitalization.
Modern society requires modern techniques. Humans are now accustomed to technologies and expect more innovations to simplify their jobs. New technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) are considered the future of the nation
